Greetings! My name is Dr. Amy Dahl and I’m a Licensed Psychologist, providing individual therapy services for adults. I’ve worked in the mental health field for nearly 20 years, obtaining my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology in 2005 and my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2010. My professional experience includes working with a variety of treatment concerns, including anxiety, depression, co-dependency, grief, adjustment, stress management, domestic violence, relationship issues, and substance abuse. Early in my career, I worked in a sub-acute detoxification unit and at two different residential treatment centers.
My therapeutic approach is client-centered, supportive, and cognitive-behavioral. Treatment is tailored to each individual. Building the therapeutic relationship (rapport) may take time and I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is supportive, safe, collaborative, non-judgmental, and empowering.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, running, listening to music, hiking, and being by Lake Michigan. I’m an advocate for making self-care a priority and building on personal strengths.
