ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
Hi. My name is Bob Cook. I am a fully licensed LMSW clinical social worker. I believe the most
important part of the therapy process is finding a therapist who is a good fit. Developing a safe, trusting, empowering, and collaborative therapeutic relationship is key. I believe you are the expert on you and I will meet you where you are in a safe, relaxed, and confidential space. I draw on a wide variety of theories, trainings, and experience to individualize your therapeutic experience to address your needs and goals leading to healing and success.
I have a Master of Social Work from Grand Valley State University. B.A in Psychology with a Social Work minor from Calvin. I have over 25 years of experience working with a diverse population of children and their families in school, residential treatment, and juvenile court settings.
I use an eclectic approach with a mix of evidence based strategies that best fits you. Some examples include person centered, trauma informed, strength based, brief solution focused, motivational interviewing, behavior modification, reality therapy, mindfulness, active listening, social communication, and problem solving.
Areas of focus include trauma, PTSD, behavioral issues, emotional regulation, anger management, stress reduction, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, improving your relationships with others, and healthy coping skills. Whether you are dealing with life stresses from school, work, crisis, or change, I look forward to supporting you on your healing journey.
