The greatest part of working as a professional therapist is being invited to walk alongside someone during their time of need. Whether handling something big or small, I feel honored to be given the privilege to work with clients. My goal is to help clients find strength, empowerment, and healing. Life is full of unknowns and unexpected events, but with healthy therapeutic support, not only can one survive the hard times, but they can learn to overcome and thrive.
I have received my Masters of Social Work from Grand Valley State University in 2014. I am a fully licensed clinical social worker (LMSW). I am also a certified advanced addiction and drug counselor (CAADC). I have practiced over seven years working with clients with varying degrees of mental health concerns, depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders, including co-occurring concerns. I have my national certification in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). I have been trained in evidence based practices such as motivational interviewing, prolonged exposure, CBT, and DBT.
Each client will spend time identifying concerns, needs, and change they want to see and work towards. Together, the client and I will begin formulating a client centered plan to accomplish the therapeutic goals set.
I want to help people navigate through intense emotions, experiences, beliefs, and relational issues that may be present at onset. I want to do this by offering a safe place to explore, gain understanding, and learn the proper skills and tools to find healing and success.
