ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS

Welcome! I hope you find a therapist here that can best meet your needs. I work primarily with adults who struggle with anxiety and depression. Additionally, I have experience working with OCD, trauma-related disorders, and others. I mainly practice from the person-centered and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) approaches to psychotherapy, but I tailor my overall approach to whatever best suits that person’s needs.

The first few sessions will likely involve me beginning to get to know you and your story, as well as an introduction to the CBT framework that will lay the foundation for much of our work together moving forward. In CBT, the therapist and client work collaboratively to identify and then change unhelpful patterns of thought and behavior that can lead to or exacerbate psychological distress.

In person-centered therapy, the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client is seen as the catalyst for positive change and healing. Mostly, our time together will be yours to talk about whatever is on your heart and mind. You can expect an environment of unconditional positive regard and acceptance as you explore your inner world, your relationships, patterns of behavior, etc.

And just a quick bit about me – I served in the Air Force for five years after high school and then later went on to receive my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time outdoors. Something about disconnecting from the hustle and bustle of city life and getting in touch with nature soothes my soul. I also love music and enjoy playing guitar and writing songs.
